Giant LEGOŽ Indy car model
The Target Store here in Oshkosh, WI
currently has a giant LEGO Indy car on display. I'm not entirely sure
what the associated promotion is all about, but they've got the
standard "Guess how many bricks" contest going on it (my guess:
750,000). The car itself is pretty impressive. Unfortunately, it's not
100% LEGOŽ, and some bricks were harmed for its creation. (The
torsion bars are stuck through holes that were drilled.) Anyway, a few
points that I noticed:
- The car is divided into seven (7) separate sections (nose to
front of wheels, front wheel section, rear of front wheels to near the
front of the windshield, windshield to back of the seat, back of the seat
to gray thing sticking up, gray thing to the end of the Fujifilm logo, and
the tail end)
- Non LEGOŽ parts: torsion bars (connecting wheels to chassis) are
metal, tires are real Firestones
- Most of the logos are made from bricks, a few are decals.
And here are the pictures I took... (click on any thumbnail to view a
