LEGO MBTA Bus

Inspiration:    I needed a new LEGO project.  I work near Boston and see these buses driving everywhere.  Seemed like a natural choice and an interesting challenge.

Reference:    Unable to find many (any, really) decent pictures on the internet, I was forced to do my own recon work.  I risked life and limb following buses along their routes and snapping quick pics while stopped in traffic.  In hindsight it wasn't the safest or smartest method, but I managed to get some reasonable shots.  And no one (that I know of) was harmed in the filming...

Irony:    I still haven't actually been on one of these buses.

Media Exposure:    The bus was finished just in time for a NELUG meeting where a local PBS station was filming a small segment about the adult LEGO community.  The segment is set to air on WGBH at the end of Greater Boston with Emily Rooney, Sept 29, 2005.  I'll post a video clip here if I'm able to procure one.

Update: Oct 3, 2005. WGBH currently has a story up at http://greaterboston.tv/features/gb_20050929_lego.html. They also have links to video of the segment.

Update: Oct 4, 2005. Videos of the segment are now available. Click here if you have Dial-up (Quicktime format, 1.83 MB, approx 5-6 mins to download over 56k modem) or Click here if you have DSL or Cable modem (Quicktime, 6.31 MB).
The videos are the same except for quality.

Update: Apr 11, 2006. The bus has been on display at the Burlington LEGO store for the past couple of months.
